Comebacks

There are several different Hollywood stars who experienced resurgences in popularity at different points in their careers. Gloria Monti and Martin Shingler’s Comebacks: The Return of the Aging Film Star shines the spotlight on these tales.

This work is edited by Monti and Shingler but features essays from a variety of different authors, each discussing different iterations of the comeback. From classic examples such as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford to more contemporary stars such as John Travolta, this book deeply explores many different career comebacks from past to present-day Hollywood.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in classic film as well as readers curious to learn more about Hollywood comebacks.
