Forbidden Cocktails

TCM has added to its library Forbidden Cocktails: Libations Inspired by the World of Pre-Code Hollywood by André Darlington. This book is sure to delight fans of Pre-Code cinema, offering a wide range of cocktail recipes to pair with specific films. While these cocktails are inspired by various Pre-Code films, there are also recipes for creating specific cocktails of the era.

Each cocktail is introduced within the context of the film that has acted as its muse. Not only does Darlington offer a brief but thoughtful discussion of the film and its cocktail pairing but the book is also beautifully supplemented with stunning photographs of the stars, film advertisements, and of course, cocktails.

This book is highly recommended to Pre-Code fans who enjoy the occasional libation, though the recipes can easily be adapted to create delightful mocktails, as well.

Forbidden Cocktails: Libations Inspired by the World of Pre-Code Hollywood is available for purchase via Running Press.
