Dorothy Arzner Interviews

Dorothy Arzner was a brilliant director and innovator. A feminist and strong proponent of supporting other women in the filmmaking industry, she most evidently made her mark upon filmmaking as a director, directing films such as Merrily We Go To Hell (1932), Dance, Girl, Dance (1940), and more.

Dorothy Arzner Interviews is a gem of a book, edited by Martin F. Norden. Here, readers are able to gain a stronger understanding of Arzner’s life on and off of movie sets. The interviews with Arzner, of course, feature fascinating conversations with her over the years, in addition to profiling her personal and professional experiences as a woman in a male-dominated film industry.

This book is not to be missed by fans of Pre-Code films and Arzner’s fabulous body of work.

Dorothy Arzner Interviews is available via the University Press of Mississippi.
