Dr. Annette Bochenek loves to take Hometowns to Hollywood on the road in order to offer fun and engaging presentations about Hollywood’s Golden Age. Her presentations range from focusing on various subjects related to Golden Age Hollywood, in addition to presentations that profile individual performers.

It’s time to get red carpet-ready! Join Film Historian Dr. Annette Bochenek as she presents about the history of the Academy Awards and some of its memorable moments, while also profiling the Best Picture picks for this year*. The program will include a multimedia presentation consisting of photos, video clips, and captivating stories. The registration link will be made available closer to the date of the presentation. *With the Oscars being postponed, the final nominee list may not be available in time. Should the final nominees not be noted, Annette will research the likely contenders and include them in the presentation.

Love is in the air in classic Hollywood! Many beloved Hollywood classics featured wedding scenes across a broad range of film genres. In real life, many film stars also happened to have high-profile and eagerly anticipated weddings. Join Film Historian Dr. Annette Bochenek as she presents about memorable classic film wedding moments, both on the screen and off. In classic Hollywood, show business often ran in the family. Whether working together or apart, many talented siblings entertained movie-going audiences during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Join Film Historian Dr. Annette Bochenek as she presents about a variety of talented classic Hollywood siblings, their careers, and their legacies today. The program will include a multimedia presentation consisting of photos, video clips, and captivating stories. The center charges $12 for members and $17 for non-members. REGISTER HERE.

About Annette Bochenek

Dr. Annette Bochenek of Chicago, Illinois, is an avid scholar of Hollywood’s Golden Age. She manages the Hometowns to Hollywood blog, in which she writes about her trips exploring the legacies and hometowns of Golden Age stars. Annette also hosts the “Hometowns to Hollywood” film series throughout the Chicago area. She has been featured on Turner Classic Movies and is the president of TCM Backlot’s Chicago chapter. In addition to writing for TCM Backlot, she also writes for Classic Movie Hub, Silent Film Quarterly, Nostalgia Digest, and Chicago Art Deco Society Magazine.
