Mervyn LeRoy Comes to Town

Mervyn LeRoy was a well-known director and producer during the Golden Age of Hollywood, working on many highly memorable productions. He was also crucial in developing the method of production for the period, ultimately working on over sixty films across five decades.

Mervyn LeRoy Comes to Town is edited by Murray Pomerance and R. Barton Palmer and features a compilation of essays that discuss LeRoy’s films. This is the first book that is entirely dedicated to examining the career of LeRoy and offers many illuminating chapters about his work during the early years of sound cinema, World War II, and the Post-War Era.

This book is highly recommended to scholars interested in the work of and stories behind productions led by LeRoy.
