Throughout the course of his storied career, Sidney Poitier experienced many groundbreaking moments in his personal and professional life. From commencement speeches to memorials, the speeches featured include the topics of filmmaking, civil rights, parenthood, and more, allowing readers to gain a stronger sense of what Poitier valued and offering a unique perspective into his life.

This book was compiled by Joanna Poitier and contains a foreword by Oprah Winfrey. Edited by John Malahy, there is also an assortment of photographs depicting Poitier on and off-screen.
