The Western movie genre has entertained audiences in the days of classic Hollywood and beyond, with numerous notable entries and stars.

In Henry C. Parke and True West Magazine‘s The Greatest Westerns Ever Made and the People Who Made Them discusses the influence of the Western film genre, including its classics as well as film and television stars. The book goes on to document various depictions of characters in addition to the talents working off-screen who helped shape the genre. Likewise, the book examines the varying perspectives in the genre, including portrayals and viewpoints of women and American Indians. Parke also explores more modern Western films and the continuation of the genre’s legacy today.
